The Uruguayan fusion restaurant didn’t disappoint with robust flavors of each dish and impeccable service. They do rotate the menu, so not every dish might be available. The portions are tapas sized, you’ll need at least two per person to get a full meal.

Everything in the menu looked delicious. I had the plums, chorizo dumplings, and the Martin Fierro. Each dish was very good, but the plums were spectacular. Very unique dish and very well done. Service was great as well. Very attentive but not overwhelming. Would highly recommend!

Ceibo is a hidden treasure. Our party of four started with cocktails (I liked the Boniato whiskey cocktail) and shared multiple dishes with some recommended wine pairings from our server. The flavors of the different dishes were fresh and delicious. We shared the plums, leek tart, (shrimp) rice pudding, the steak, and a couple other dishes. Don’t miss the Uruguay tannat wine, particularly if you like full bodied wines like Malbec. We ended our evening, sharing the chocolate cake and a tawny port. Overall, a relaxed, enjoyable experience with outstanding food and service.

Great food. Competent, friendly service. This is a small-plate style restaurant so you can sample many flavors. Our party of four could not decide which dish was best. We loved the mushroom tart, chorizo dumplings in broth, rice pudding shrimp, crab cake with caviar. Desserts were also wonderful. The Massini sponge cake and dulce de leche chocolate cake were both fantastic. Oddly, they do not have coffee. The waiter explained there’s currently no room in the kitchen for the equipment. Expensive splurge but certainly worth it. Will definitely return.

Our waiter was attentive and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent—flavorful, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lively and fun. We had such a great time and would definitely come back again!

Absolutely out of this world experience. The food was so good. The service was incredible. Could not have been a better spot for our 5 year. Still thinking about this meal days after.

came for restaurant week and thankfully it wasn’t crowded — 3 courses for 80pp first course: - hamachi crudo: good but standard - latkes: really flavorful and i liked the texture - eggplant (my personal fave): reminded me of chinese eggplant but with a bold sauce second course: - lamb belly: beautifully presented. fish roe was a bit unnecessary but the flavor was just right and paired well with potato - chorizo dumplings: packed with umami and almost like a soup dumpling, but the broth was meh - fish: small portion and a lighter contrast to the chorizo desserts: - ice cream: light and refreshing unique acai flavor - chocolate cake: very dense but also very chocolatey. a bit dry - bread pudding: not my favorite but interesting/unique

If I could, I’d give Ceibo DC more than five stars. The appetizers and entrees are incredibly authentic and delicious. What’s more, the service is simply outstanding — the staff truly goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. I highly recommend the pickled eggplant and the lamb belly.
